Built to get better with the community
Completed translations are stored on the server and can be safely reused when another viewer watches the same matching release in the same language. That means fewer duplicate Gemini requests, faster access to subtitles and a growing library of synchronized translations.
Your credentials stay private
Each browser gets its own private profile. Provider credentials are encrypted on the server and never placed in the Stremio manifest URL.
- Your player receives only a public addon URL.
- Your profile is protected by a password you choose.

Do I need provider credentials?
Connect at least one subtitle provider: OpenSubtitles, SubDL or SubSource. Gemini is needed only when you choose to create a new translation.
Will a translation change subtitle timing?
No. SubTranslate keeps each cue’s original start and end time, and translates only its text.
Which apps can use SubTranslate?
SubTranslate is designed for Stremio and compatible clients that support external VTT subtitle tracks. Presentation can vary by app and version.
Can I use the official OpenSubtitles V3 addon instead?
Not currently. SubTranslate uses its own authenticated OpenSubtitles connection for more predictable search and download behaviour.
